Illawarra Physiotherapy Centre.

Illawarra Physiotherapy Centre is located inside the Illawarra Medical Centre in Ballajura, WA. Our dedicated physiotherapists work in close consultation with the GP’s and other allied health services to ensure the complete care of every patient so that we can make a difference in the life of everyone in the community and to make physiotherapy accessible to everyone young and old.

It is with pride that our aim at Illawarra Physiotherapy Centre is to provide a high quality of care in a relaxed, friendly environment in our modern physiotherapy rooms.

We treat all musculoskeletal conditions and are also qualified in clinical exercise, injury prevention, treatment of vertigo and vestibular conditions, women’s health, prostate, incontinence, pre and post-surgery support, paediatric physiotherapy and general physical wellbeing of all our patients.

The physiotherapists at Illawarra Physiotherapy Centre attend weekly education sessions to ensure that their manual therapy techniques, clinical diagnosis as well as their clinical exercise practices are up to date and refined so that they can offer the best outcome to all our patients.

Our physiotherapists are all trained in dry needling techniques that can be used to assist your physiotherapy treatment. Dry needling is the insertion of filament (acupuncture) needles into the soft tissues of the body to treat Musculo-skeletal pain and dysfunction.

Clinical exercise rehabilitation is a critical factor with injury recovery and prevention. We offer supervised clinical exercise rehabilitation for people recovering from workplace, motor vehicle and personal injury including post surgery exercise by providing a range of informed exercises within an evidence-based and therapeutic framework.

Illawarra Physiotherapy Centre physiotherapists are experienced in sports injury physiotherapy and injury prevention and offer tailored recovery plans so that you can return to sport as quickly and painlessly as possible. Our physiotherapists also offer post-surgery rehabilitation so that your recovery is aligned with the advice from your surgeon.

Along with our hands on and clinical exercise treatments we offer supportive guidance with pain management and tools so that you can return to a healthy ‘you’ as well as gaining relief from general aches so that you can restore your body to have pain free movement.

Our expert Physiotherapists are well trained to treat women’s and men’s personal problems with pelvic floor muscle dysfunction. We offer dedicated assistance to assist people with prenatal, postnatal, prostate surgery and pelvic floor issues to gain and return to normal function. By using Real-time ultrasound imaging (RTUI) we can assess and retrain the deep muscles of the body that cannot be easily palpated during exercise.

Suffering from dizziness? We are well trained in treating benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), migraine and inflammation of the inner ear balance apparatus (called vestibular neuritis). If you suffer from BPPV our physiotherapists can treat and manage this condition by using a set of exercises designed to remove inner ear crystals in BPPV as well as give advice on self-management to prevent recurrence of the condition.

We also offer treatment under the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care scheme on referral from your GP. We also offer full treatment for Department of Veteran’s affairs patients: Gold and White card holders. Our case load in treating worker’s compensation and motor vehicle accident clients is extensive as it is our priority to guide you with your recovery and get you back to being your best again.

Illawarra Physiotherapy Centre is a registered provider for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and we offer a wide range of treatments to aid our NDIS patients with improved mobility and function so that they can continue to lead healthier lives..

No GP referral is required for privately paying clients, and we accept all private health funds. HICAPS is available for your convenience.
